A Heartwarming Journey Through Time: Grade 1’s “Where We Are in Place and Time” Unit
Our young learners in Grade 1 recently embarked on a fascinating exploration of how lifestyles have evolved over generations. As part of our inquiry into ‘Learning about the past helps us to understand the present and the future’ under the theme “Where We Are in Place and Time”, we organized a special session that brought together our students with their parents and grandparents.
The goal was to foster a deeper understanding of how life has changed or remained consistent across different eras. Through engaging conversations and interactive activities, our students were able to connect with their elders and gain valuable insights into the past.
One of the highlights of the session was the use of Venn diagrams. Guided by the personal stories and experiences shared by their loved ones, our young inquirers visually mapped out the similarities and differences between their lives and those of their parents and grandparents. This hands-on approach helped them to grasp abstract concepts and make meaningful connections.
It was heartwarming to witness the cross-generational interaction that took place during the session. Our students were eager to learn about the challenges and joys of life in the past, while their parents and grandparents were delighted to share their experiences and perspectives and take a walk down memory lane. The vibrant learning atmosphere created by this intergenerational exchange was truly inspiring.
This session was a wonderful opportunity for our Grade 1 students to develop a deeper appreciation for their heritage and a greater sense of belonging to the world around them by learning about the past which helped them understand the present and help shape the future.
Grade 2
Building Bridges Through Reading
At Edubridge International School, we believe in the power of collaboration and the joy of reading. Recently, our Grade 2 students had the wonderful opportunity to buddy up with their Grade 3 peers for a special reading project that fostered friendship, teamwork, and a love for books.
During their reading sessions, the buddies took turns reading aloud, discussing characters, and predicting what might happen next. The Grade 3 students guided their partners through challenging words and concepts, making the experience both educational and fun. Laughter and excitement filled the classroom as they shared their thoughts and reactions to the stories.
After finishing their books, each pair came together to reflect on their reading journey. They created a collage of emotions that the characters went through and also reflected on their emotions and how they changed through the story.
This collaboration not only enhanced literacy skills but also built strong bonds between the grades. The younger students looked up to their buddies as role models, while the older students gained confidence in their ability to lead and mentor.
As we wrapped up this successful project, it was clear that the benefits extended far beyond just reading. Students learned the importance of teamwork, empathy, and communication.
Young Innovators Take Center Stage: A Showcase of Creativity and Collaboration
Our Grade 3 learners recently dazzled us all with their incredible ingenuity at the “Think Tank” unit celebration. This event was a testament to the power of young minds and their ability to innovate and solve real-world problems where their projects ranged from eco-friendly inventions to ingenious problem-solving solutions. The students skillfully answered questions posed by parents, demonstrating a deep understanding of their work and a keen awareness of global challenges.
The celebration didn’t stop there! Students also had a fruitful collaboration with the Grade 2 students of Manav Rachna International School, Faridabad. As part of the culmination, our students shared their experiences and insights into the process of creating their innovative projects. This collaboration provided a unique opportunity for our students to connect with peers from another school and learn from each other’s experiences. They discussed the local and global problems that inspired their inventions and explored how their projects could contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The “Think Tank” unit celebration showcased the potential of young minds and their ability to innovate and contribute to a better future. Their achievements inspire us all and give us hope for a brighter tomorrow.
Grade 4
Our Grade 4 students recently had an enriching opportunity to engage with guest speakers, who were none other than parents from the same grade. This collaboration allowed the students to make meaningful real-world connections during their unit on organizations. The parents graciously shared valuable insights into their organization’s vision, mission, core values, and the challenges they encountered.
This collaborative initiative was a brilliant example of how involving the community can enhance learning. By bringing in parents with diverse professional backgrounds, the students were able to see first-hand how leadership traits, problem-solving, and teamwork play critical roles in achieving organizational goals. The session emphasized the importance of collaboration, not just within organizations but also among families and schools, as both parties worked together to inspire young minds. We are deeply grateful to the parents for dedicating their time and contributing to this invaluable learning experience, making the session both insightful and inspiring for our young learners.

Grade 5 students had explored media literacy through guest speakers, including an advertising expert, a radio jockey, a product packaging lead designer, and a social media post creator. These speakers provided students with firsthand knowledge about media creation and consumption, emphasizing the importance of responsible communication and the impact it could have on audiences. Advertising expert Mrs. Kejal Teckchandani guided students through the process of creating advertisements, while Radio Jockey Mr. Shravan Bane discussed the role of RJs, highlighting preparation, creativity, and technical skills. Social media content creator Ms. Simran Sharma offered insights into content creation, focusing on storytelling, design elements, and audience engagement. Lead designer Kassandra Fernandes helped students understand the significance of relatability, innovation, unique personality, and memorability in content creation. These guest speakers enriched students’ media literacy by helping them critically evaluate media, recognize biases, and make informed decisions, empowering them to navigate media responsibly in their daily lives.
