Our guidance counselors support the happiness and wellbeing of our students. They are trained to help learners with school-related problems arising from academic, personal, or family conflicts – such as managing peer relationships, dealing with unrealistic parent expectations, changing habits for the better, and adjusting to transitions.
The core principle of guidance counseling is to help students make effective decisions in their lives. Whether it be personal issues, relationships, or career decisions, our guidance counselors empower students to develop their own decision-making approaches, explore the consequences and facets of their choices, and discover themselves in the process.
Another aim of our counseling programme is to help learners self-explore, using personality profiles, career profiles and learning style inventories. Throughout each school year, our guidance counselors conduct classroom sessions in every grade level to help students gain insights into their behavior patterns, personality types, learning styles, decision-making processes, interests, and capabilities.
And, our counselors provide academic follow-up that involves systematic checks to know the extent to which our educational programmes are meeting the learning needs of students. Approaches to monitoring include periodic progress reports, counseling sessions, customized assessments, and consultation with parents, teachers and school leaders.
