Keeping classes small is so important! Small classes help learners to feel listened to and cared about. And, they help teachers to really know and help their students: giving encouragement, preventing frustrations, providing extra challenge, and giving personalized feedback to move them forward in their learning.

Early Years is where the PYP begins. Lessons are designed to provide a balance of child-initiated and teacher-facilitated activities. Children are given a variety of choices, in an environment that encourages discovery, independence, conceptual thinking, and social interaction. Upon completion of our Early Years Programme, our learners are ready for Grade 1, with strong social skills and a solid foundation in literacy, numeracy, science and geography.

Thanks to their international transferability, rigour and breadth of study, the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programmes are the top choice for globally mobile families seeking a world-class curriculum for their children. And, as the ‘gold standard’ among top universities around the world, the IB Diploma gives our graduates the edge they need for future success. Most importantly, school life is richer when your teachers empower, inspire and motivate you – and that is what our PYP, MYP and DP Programmes are all about!

In today’s globally connected world, an International Education is valuable for so many reasons – here are but a few: i) Career doors open when you have intercultural skills and a worldview. ii) Career doors open when you speak in multiple languages. iii) Career doors open when you are an innovative problem-solver. iv) Career doors open when you are a collaborative team player. v) Career doors open when you are an adaptable, open-minded and conceptual thinker.

Our faculty members come from a range of countries and different regions across India’s culturally diverse landscape. The resulting multiplicity of cuisines, mother tongues, artistic expressions, and other aspects of Indian culture provides a rich milieu for students to explore their roots and identify with “Incredible India!” Additionally, through our “Magnificent Maharashtra!” programme, our students learn Marathi whilst taking a deep dive into the rich history and culture of India’s 3rd largest and 2nd most populous State.

English is the medium of instruction at EIS. Our additional languages are French, Hindi, Marathi and Spanish.

Students may avail of the food service in our cafeteria, which features Indian and International vegetarian foods. Students may also bring their own veg and non-veg snacks and lunches to school.

Nursery students need to be brought to school by private vehicle. All other students take the school bus.

Our teachers are renowned for creating friendly classrooms where learners feel confident and cared about. They are also known for being learner-centered, which means they are more like ‘gardeners’ than ‘carpenters’ – creating the ideal conditions for learners to reach for the sky. We take care to hire experienced teachers with excellent credentials, strong references and an unmistakable passion for teaching. Upon joining, each new teacher is trained on our ‘EIS Teaching Standards’. Additionally, they receive peer mentorship and professional development opportunities throughout their tenure.

We have taken great care to depict our school accurately. That said, we feel that EIS can only be fully appreciated when you experience it. In other words, we think our school is even better than can be put into words.

Our caring teachers and friendly students will go above and beyond to make your child’s first day, week, month and year a happy experience. We asked our teachers what their transition strategies are – here are a few:

✓  Reading past school reports, doctor recommendations, and other records

✓  Sending new students a friendly greeting before their first day of school

✓  Pairing each new student with a ‘buddy’ to befriend and accompany them

✓  Smiling and greeting new students from the moment they arrive

✓  Learning what each new student is interested in – and asking them about it

✓  Giving students a platform to share about themselves and their interests

✓  Providing opportunities for the cohort to bond and know each other better

✓  Giving new students a ‘welcome pack’ with friendly notes from classmates
