TECH@EIS

“Information is no longer bound primarily in books; it’s available everywhere in bits and bytes.” Indeed, technology has transformed education as we know it. Traditional chalkboards have been replaced with digital platforms; messy experiments have been supplanted by virtual simulations; pen and paper have given way to tablets, laptops and smartphones – all seamlessly connected by Wi-Fi and supported by cloud-based software. Gone are the days of children lugging textbook-laden backpacks to and from school; sitting in rows at desks, dutifully writing notes as the teacher drones on; and lining up to use a solitary desktop computer in the corner. Instead, thanks to technology, we can now offer children rich, rewarding, and unique learning experiences that give them greater voice, choice and ownership, and take them beyond their classrooms and into communities around the world.

At Edubridge, we use technology to achieve aims like these:

  • Giving students greater access to information, content, resources, materials
  • Turning traditionally dull topics into activities that are interactive and fun
  • Improving the quality of feedback and support that we give to students
  • Enhancing relationships, through online expression and connection
  • Providing more authentic, real-world learning experiences
  • Equipping students with the skills they need for academic and career success
  • Engaging different learning styles, giving every child a tailored experience
  • Empowering learners to set goals and pursue personal interests
  • Taking students on adventures, (virtual safaris, virtual tours of museums, etc.)
  • Making assessment more flexible, to support a range of skills and competences
What is Digital Citizenship?

Digital citizenship encompasses a broad range of knowledge, skills and attitudes among students, staff, administration and parents/guardians about Internet usage.

A Digital Citizen is One Who
  • implements precautions for online security (e.g., passwords, settings)
  • protects the privacy of self and others
  • uses devices with attention to physical and mental health
  • develops a positive reputation and digital footprint
  • contributes positively to the local and global communities
  • evaluates and reflects critically on information/resources/sites and respects the intellectual property of others.
